About the conference: The conference organized by FCI on forest conservation will take place in Monaco from November 21 to 23, 2023. The conference will bring together representatives of indigenous peoples and local communities (IPs & LCs), experts from around the world, as well as various stakeholders, to discuss the importance of forest conservation.
Participants will explore, through fireside chats and panels, ways to promote inclusive forest conservation which implies placing IPs & LCs intervention at the center by respecting a rights-based and gender equality approaches; using environmental law as legal tools; as well as ensuring effective financing for the benefit of IPs & LCs and this also implies ensuring good governance on the part of States and their bodies.
